Pixel Lineage Combat: Timing, Energy and Lives
A selected attack still has a timing prompt. Learn your class’s own input pattern, then watch the enemy response and the hero’s resources before spending the next turn.

The attack prompt is class-specific
The beginner walkthrough compares Warrior’s sliding click prompt with a different Thief sequence. Start on Normal, watch where the timing target appears and use the input printed on your screen. The official description directs players to in-game controls.
Practice repeatable timing before pushing higher difficulty. If the prompt feels difficult, try Warrior on a new hero rather than assuming every class uses the same input sequence.
Your action and the enemy prompt are different
The community reference distinguishes your-turn Guard from enemy-turn Dodge or Block. A defensive menu choice does not remove the next enemy prompt. Use the live device input printed in the game.
| Control | Turn | Reported purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Attack / Skill | Your turn | Choose an action and complete its displayed timing. |
| Guard | Your turn | Prepare defense; Mage has its own Energy/barrier rule. |
| Dodge | Enemy turn | Complete the defensive prompt to avoid the hit. |
| Block | Enemy turn | Complete the prompt to reduce the hit. |
Read the resource before the skill
Look at the skill’s Energy cost and the scaling shown in the Skills tab. Equipment powers in the update can alter opening resources or first-turn damage. Those item-specific modifiers do not mean every hero has the same opening turn.
For a spell build, plan the first action around resources you actually have. The Build tab shows your current stats and gear; the Skills tab shows what each action scales with. Recheck both after changing equipment.
Between fights, make the risk decision
| Current state | Practical next action |
|---|---|
| Healthy and timing is reliable | Proceed to a suitable encounter on your current difficulty. |
| Low HP with recovery available | Use a heal or recovery route before taking another serious fight. |
| The next encounter is too strong | Use Return Home between fights and prepare at the Castle. |
| Only one life remains | Store useful movable gear and inspect inbox life claims before risking the hero. |
When a battle is lost
The walkthrough distinguishes a paid in-battle revive from returning home with a lost life. Code life rewards may sit in the inbox until claimed. Read the available controls before assuming a defeat ends every part of your progress.
Keep healing, defensive timing and pet support in the plan. A conditional rescue talent has a trigger and a limited use; it is not a permanent extra life.
